Engagement Agent

The Engagement Agent is an add-on for $20 a month. Add it from Billing, then switch it on for the accounts you want it to watch.

Publishing is only half of social media. The other half is the messages and comments that arrive afterwards, at times that don't suit you, on platforms you'd rather not keep open all day. The Engagement Agent watches those conversations and helps you keep up with them.

One inbox

Conversations from your connected accounts land in a single queue rather than scattered across apps. Each one carries a status, so you can see whether it still needs you, and a priority, so a customer asking about pricing surfaces above a compliment on last week's photo.

How quickly it notices

Where a platform can tell us something arrived, we hear immediately. Where it can't, we check every fifteen minutes. We run that check regardless, so a missed notification doesn't mean a missed message. Replies are processed within a couple of minutes of being approved.

The 24-hour window

This is the constraint worth understanding. On Instagram and Facebook, Meta only allows a business to reply to someone within 24 hours of that person's last message. Miss it and the reply is refused by Meta, not by us.

It's the main reason an agent that watches continuously is worth having: the window closes overnight, and a conversation you'd have happily answered in the morning is already out of reach.

You stay in control

Replies are drafted from your business profile and whatever material you've given us, so they answer in your terms rather than generically. You decide how much runs unattended. Automatic replies can be switched off entirely, or held to a confidence threshold so only the clear-cut ones go out on their own and anything uncertain waits for you.

Where it works

The agent works on Instagram Business and Creator accounts and on Facebook Pages. Instagram personal accounts aren't supported, because Meta doesn't offer comment and message access for them.

Reading conversations depends on the platform exposing the text of comments and messages, which not all of them do. Each platform page's Metrics section says whether comment text is available there. Where it isn't, the agent has nothing to read.

The "Comment text" column is the one that matters here. It's what the agent reads.

Turning it on

  1. Open Billing in the sidebar and add the Engagement Agent. It costs $20 a month, or $192 a year on an annual plan, and works on both the flat plan and older per-platform plans.
  2. Go to Connected Accounts, open Enabled Features on an Instagram or Facebook account, and switch on AI Engagement Agent. Buying the add-on doesn't switch it on by itself, so turn it on for each account you want it to watch.

Removing it

Remove it from Billing whenever you like. You keep it until the end of your current billing period, and if you keep it before then, the removal is cancelled with nothing new to pay.
