Google Business Integration

Publish updates to your Google Business Profile, where they appear on Google Search and Maps next to your listing. This is the one platform here that reaches people looking for a business rather than scrolling a feed.

Connecting your account

Add Google Business from your Accounts page and approve the connection with the Google account that manages the profile. Then pick the locations you want to post to — each becomes a target you choose by nickname when composing a post.

The profile must be verified by Google before it will accept posts. If your locations list comes back empty, verification is the usual reason.

Three kinds of post

Google Business posts come in three shapes, and which one you pick changes what's required.

  • What's New — the default. A summary, optionally an image and a Learn More link. Nothing else is required.
  • Event — needs a title (max 58 characters) plus a start and end time. The title becomes the event name.
  • Offer — needs the same title and date range as an Event, plus either a coupon code or a redeem link. You can also add terms and conditions.

Event and Offer times are local wall-clock times at the location — no timezone offset. An event that starts at 6pm starts at 6pm where the business is. This is different from a post's scheduled publish time, which does carry a timezone.

Per-post options

Google Business exposes no per-post options to partner tools through its API — every post uses the shared fields above.

These are the options Google Business exposes to partner tools through its API. Platforms often test new settings inside their own app long before opening them to tools like ours — when that happens the option simply isn't available to us until they publish it.

Scheduling

Schedule Google Business posts for any future time — see Scheduled Posting for how times, timezones, and cancellation work.

Metrics

Google reports at the location level rather than per post — profile views, searches, calls, direction requests, and website clicks. Those appear in their own section of your dashboard instead of the per-post cards you see for other platforms.
