MCP (Claude, ChatGPT, and others)

Greenwood Social speaks MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard AI assistants use to connect to outside tools. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, or any other MCP client and manage your social accounts by asking — draft posts, attach media, build a content calendar, schedule everything, and find out what published and what didn't, without opening the app.

Setting it up

Add Greenwood Social as a connector in your assistant, then approve the connection when it prompts you. The assistant acts as you, on the organization you approve — it sees the same accounts you do and nothing else. Claude and ChatGPT are both supported today; any other MCP-capable client works the same way.

What your assistant can do

Posting

Create and schedule posts with the full set of fields — title, content, tags, link, privacy, post type, and every platform-specific option available in the app. Anything you can tick in the create-post form, your assistant can set. It can also list your completed and failed posts, and delete scheduled ones that haven't published.

Bulk sessions

Build a whole content calendar in one conversation: create a session, add posts, revise them, rename the session, and schedule it. Review the result in the app's bulk grid before it goes anywhere.

Media

The simplest path is a URL — give your assistant a link to your image or video and we download it, up to 7 GB. It only has to be reachable at the moment the post is created.

An assistant can also upload a file directly. That path is capped at 100 MB and is slow for anything large, so a URL is worth preferring whenever you have one.

Accounts and organizations

List your connected accounts and their sub-accounts — Facebook Pages, Pinterest boards, Google Business locations — so your assistant knows what it can publish to and can name the right one. It can also create organizations, invite members, and manage roles.

Connecting a social account is the one thing that stays in the app. It needs your approval on the platform's own site.

Things to know

• Your assistant goes through the same validation the app does. A post that would be rejected in the form is rejected here, with the same explanation — so it can correct the post and try again.
• Scheduled times need an explicit timezone offset, like 2026-08-15T09:00:00-07:00. Tell your assistant your timezone once and it will use it.
• Per-platform differences still apply. A title becomes the YouTube video title and is ignored on Instagram, exactly as it would be from the app.
• Everything done over MCP shows up in the app immediately, and vice versa. The two are the same data.

A good first request

"List my connected accounts, then schedule this video to TikTok and YouTube for Thursday at 9am Pacific. Use the same caption on both, and give YouTube a proper title."
