Pinterest Integration
Pin images and video to your Pinterest boards on a schedule. Pinterest is the one platform here where the link is the point — every pin can carry a destination URL that sends people to your site.
At a glance
| What it's for | Pins — a single image or video on a board. |
|---|---|
| Post types | Image, Video |
| Account needed | A Pinterest business account with at least one board. |
| How you connect | OAuth — you approve Greenwood Social, then pick which board to pin to. |
| Posts target a | Board — pick one when you connect, and reference it by nickname on each post. |
| Content archiving | Published posts are backed up automatically. |
Connecting your account
Add Pinterest from your Accounts page and approve the connection. Then pick the boards you want to pin to — each becomes a target you can choose when composing a post, referenced by nickname rather than by board ID.
You need at least one board before you can publish. Create one in Pinterest first if the list comes back empty.
What you type, and where it shows up
Pinterest uses nearly every field: Title is the pin title, Content is the description, and Link is where the pin sends people. Tags are appended to the description as hashtags.
| You type | Image post | Video post |
|---|---|---|
| Title | The pin title.max 100 characters | The pin title.max 100 characters |
| Content | The pin description.max 500 characters | The pin description.max 500 characters |
| Tags | Appended as #hashtags to the pin description. | Appended as #hashtags to the pin description. |
| Link | The pin's destination URL — where someone lands when they click the pin. | The pin's destination URL — where someone lands when they click the pin. |
| Privacy | Not used — a pin's visibility comes from the board it's on. Pin to a secret board and the pin stays private. | Not used — a pin's visibility comes from the board it's on. Pin to a secret board and the pin stays private. |
Media requirements
| Images per post | 1 |
|---|---|
| Image formats | JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, BMP |
| Max image size | 32.0 MB |
| Image dimensions | at least 100×100. |
| Video formats | MP4, MOV, WEBM |
| Max video size | 2.0 GB |
| Video length | at least 4 seconds, up to 5 minutes |
| If your file doesn't fit | We convert it for you where we can — images become JPG and video becomes MP4. Files we can't bring within these limits are reported before the post is scheduled, not after. |
Pinterest takes exactly one image or video per pin. A 2:3 ratio — 1000×1500 is the usual target — fills the most space in the feed. If you attach several images to a post that also goes to other platforms, Pinterest uses the first.
Per-post options
Pinterest exposes no per-post options to partner tools through its API — every post uses the shared fields above.
These are the options Pinterest exposes to partner tools through its API. Platforms often test new settings inside their own app long before opening them to tools like ours — when that happens the option simply isn't available to us until they publish it.
Scheduling
Schedule pins for any future time — see Scheduled Posting for how times, timezones, and cancellation work.
Metrics

Saves — someone re-pinning your pin to their own board — are reported as shares. Pinterest has no separate reach metric; impressions is the closest equivalent.
